The Laurel Highlands region is one of Pennsylvania’s biggest and best natural playgrounds, with many state parks and other outdoor recreational areas. There are so many things to do in the area – hiking, biking, downhill skiing, x-country skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, golfing, museums, live theater, antiquing, festivals and wineries – you’ll want to return again and again.

State Parks in the Laurel Highlands:

Powdermill Nature Reserve – nature educational center, public lodge and trails (1/2 mile – short walk)

Including Fort Ligonier – A Historical Landmark where George Washington lived during The French and Indian War
